FEBRUARY 2013 UPDATE
MEETINGS AND EVENTS: February General Membership Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7th at The Lodge in San Miguel State Park. Spaghetti “ala Yeldell” will be provided. Please bring your favorite sides and desserts to accompany this meal; pick up your “Join TBLA” bass decal/bumper stickers, and display them proudly on your vehicle/boat! Ricky Yeldell with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries will be our guest speaker. 2013 Officers elected by the Board include: Ted Dove, President; Phil Medine, 1st Vice President; John Miller, 2nd Vice President; Mike Randolph, Secretary; and Gaynell Goodeaux, Treasurer. From TBLA President Ted E. Dove: This new update is my first as President of this organization. I will do my best to serve and lead in a manner that perpetuates and improves upon the success of the past years. The success of our organization depends on the willingness of the membership to do all they can in support of TBLA’s mission, e.g., “to provide financial and volunteer assistance to maintain and/or improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to Toledo Bend Lake and to maintain the environment and aquatic integrity of the lake to maintain the lake as a world class fishery.” Likewise, TBLA’s officers and directors have a commitment above and beyond that of the general membership. Together we are a great asset to our community. As we move forward into 2013, I would like your input on ways you feel we can improve. I have always maintained that no one learns anything from talking……you can always learn something by listening! You may contact me by email at tdove@craworld.com or call (318) 590-2989. In closing, I would like to thank two departing officers who have served you for the past two years - Gloria Quebodeaux, Treasurer, and Gaynell Goodeaux, President. Their contributions to and support of TBLA are too numerous to state in this newsletter. Suffice it to say that only those who have served at this level understand the effort and time commitment these key positions require. So when you next see either of them, thank them for their service. Both will remain on the Board of Directors and Gaynell will serve as your Treasurer. Mark your calendars: Bass Unlimited Poster Unveiling – Thursday, March 7th at Cypress Bend Resort. Bass Unlimited Banquet – Friday, April 19th at Cypress Bend Park Pavilion. The 2013 Bass Unlimited Raffle will feature a 2013 Polaris Ranger 800 ATV Side by Side. Raffle tickets are two for $5 or five for $10. We will be selling tickets at various locations around the lake. Renewals are due by Jan. 31 Annual membership Dues are: $10.00 for an individual membership; $15.00 for a couple/family membership; $25.00 for an annual business membership or $200 for a 10-yr. business membership.
