The Toledo Bend Lake Association (TBLA) will unveil its annual Bass Unlimited (BU) Poster during the Unveiling Party and Auction at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, in the Grand Ballroom at Cypress Bend Resort on beautiful Toledo Bend Lake. The Unveiling Gala is open to the public and there is no admission charge. Toledo Bend Lake Association is a non-profit organization that sponsors the Annual Bass Unlimited Banquet and Auction as its major fundraising project to support and benefit Toledo Bend Lake.

Norma Godwin, an artist who is inspired by the natural world and all its creatures has been selected to design and paint an original oil painting from which the 2013 poster will be copied and printed. Landscapes and still-life are her favorite subjects to paint hence, she is and ideal artist for creating the 2013 BU poster. Mrs. Godwin lives on the Texas side of Toledo Bend Lake, just south of Hemphill in the Fairmount area.

The 2013 poster is sponsored by the current and past presidents of TBLA and their spouses—Ted and Carolyn Dove and Gaynell and Ned Goodeaux. Both couples reside on the Lake, having moved to Many upon their retirement. The Doves moved to the Lake in 2004 from Baton Rouge, where Ted was Executive Vice President of CRA Environmental Engineers and Carolyn was Director of Youth Ministries for the Louisiana Conference, United Methodist Church. The Goodeauxs moved to the Lake in 2002 from the Lake Charles area where Ned was Maintenance Supervisor with the Conoco Philips Refinery and Gaynell was Assistant Vice President and Branch Operations Manager for First Federal Bank. They have all become very involved with TBLA and its drive to maintain and improve Toledo Bend Lake and the communities that surround it. Gaynell was President of TBLA in and 2012. Ted is the newly elected President for 2013.

The Goodeauxs and Doves plan to attend the Unveiling Party on Thursday, March 7, where Artist Godwin will be signing posters. The posters will be available at the Poster Sales table at the conclusion of the Unveiling Program. The cost of an unframed poster is $20. Framed posters are $40.

The first numbered framed poster as well as the framed original artwork from which the poster was created will be auctioned by Professional Auctioneer Kevin McDonald, beginning at 7:30 p.m. In addition to this year’s poster items that are auctioned, two (2) pieces of original art by previous Bass Unlimited artists—Don Edwards and Elaine Echels—will be auctioned.

Debbie Nichols, owner of Nichols, Incorporated, and her talented staff will decorate the ballroom for this festive event. Ms. Nichols was the sponsor of the 2006 BU Poster and note cards. She graciously allows the sale of Bass Unlimited posters at her Many store. If 2013 posters are still available after the Bass Unlimited Banquet and Auction on Friday, April 19, framed and unframed posters will be available at the Nichols store in Many.

The 2013 BU Poster can be pre-ordered now. Unframed posters sell for $20 each and framed posters sell for $40 each. They will be available for pick up at the Poster Unveiling. To order your poster, send a check or money order to the address shown here. Make checks payable to Bass Unlimited of TBLA:

For Bass Unlimited Poster collectors who want to add the same numbered poster to their collection, orders must be received by Friday, February 22, 2013. After February 22, there is no guarantee that the requested number will be available. Please contact the poster coordinators Tim or Rhonda Dean (318-590-0599) to reserve your number. If your number is no longer available, they can reserve a different number for you. If you would like your poster personalized, enclose a note with the wording to be used. If you would like to have your poster(s) mailed, include $8 for shipping and handling regardless of the number of posters requested. Please allow thirty days for delivery.

Posters from 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2012 are still available. The cost is $15 each. In addition, several of the artist proofs from the 2011 poster are available for $40 each. Please specify the year of the poster you would like to purchase if other than 2013.
