The Toledo Bend Bi-State Alliance was formed early this year to serve your interests in the Toledo Bend Area.

The Alliance has a current membership of 21organizations and 14 non-voting at large members. Member organizations represent over 2,800 area residents.

The purpose of the Alliance is to promote tourism and Toledo Bend Reservoir as a recreational resource of Louisiana and Texas.

One of the initial objectives of the Alliance has been to establish a minimum water level of 168’ mean sea level for power generation (with three exceptions that are reasonable and required). Through the efforts of the Alliance, we now have consideration of the Lake Level on a Local, State and Federal level.

We Need Your Help!!!

• Contact your local, state and federal representatives to support the efforts of the Alliance.
• Arrange for your organization to join the Alliance or join an organization that is a member.
• Send us a letter! Tell us how the low lake level affected you and/or your business. Be factual, be honest, but to the best of your ability tell us your situation. If as a property owner or in your business you have experienced additional costs that are a result of low water levels tell us the facts and figures.

The Toledo Bend Bi-State Alliance will consolidate the information we receive and prepare a report. The report will be presented to the officials who can cause a change in the situation e.g. The Governors of Louisiana & Texas, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (The FERC regulates Toledo Bend at the Federal Level), The Sabine River Authorities of Louisiana and Texas, other elected state and federal officials. We have been supported in this effort by US Senator Mary Landrieu D-La., Louisiana State Senators Cain & Smith, Texas State Senator Nixon, Louisiana State Representative Salter and Texas State Representative Christian.
