Meeting Minutes
January 28, 2002
The meeting was called to order by Larry Kelly. He also lead the group in Prayer.

The minutes of the last meeting were not on the web site because of a computer problem. When this is fixed the minutes will be posted.

The Treasurers report was presented. The bank balance is 2,232.85 and there are 2 organizations paid for 2002.

There was considerable discussion concerning the hats to be purchased for sale. The hats will cost 8.95 if there is text on the front only. They will cost between $11.95 and 12.45 if the lettering is done on the front and the back.

The time has come for dues to be paid for the 2002 year.

The LAWF will have their meeting the first week of March. Larry Kelly will attend the meeting and requested that the admittance fee be paid by the TBBSA.

A motion was made seconded and passed that the TBBSA continue membership in the LAWF.

DETDA report
The experience legislators are not seeking reelection. The Texas State Water Plan has been adopted. Environmental groups are against the raising of the level of Steinhagen.

Region I Water Planning.
The Lower Neches Valley Authority (LNVA) presented their objectives and the plans of the Core Of Engineers (COE) to try and work the Neches river as a system instead of individual lakes. The discussion concerning the raising of the level of Steinhagen is just a planning activity. It is an attempt to determine what makes sense and what costs and impacts would be involved.

The Sabine Parish Chamber and tourism commission are trying to work with the other parishes and the Texas counties around the lake. A meeting was scheduled for all to discuss the issues. The concept is to consider the lake area instead of individual counties or parishes.

There was a discussion of the plan to put lights under the Pendalton Bridge for the fisherman.

The group involved in the collaborative effort will be meeting again. The general feeling of those attending was that some progress can be made.

The SRA annual report included comments about the collaborative effort.

At the last joint board meeting they approved the cost of studies coming out of the collaborative effort.

Notices of that the dues are payable now will be sent out to the organizations which were members last year.

The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be February 25th 2002 at 6:30 PM.
