General

  • We accept only advertising that is related to the lake area and/or would be expected to be of interest to our visitors.
  • There is only 1 Banner Ad displayed on any given page
  • We do not sell advertising for any specific page. All ads can appear on all pages.
  • All ads are in rotation with one another. A given ad may appear on any page of the site as well as on the Toledo Bend Lake Association, Toledo Bend Bi-State Alliance, and Toledo Bend Citizens' Advisory Committee websites. When an ad comes up in random rotation it goes onto whatever page of the site that is being displayed at that moment in time; the next visitor/page request will get another ad. The only section of the site where there are no banner ads is the new Vintage Cigarette Lighters section started November 16, 2011.
  • Ads are $360.00 per year and are available on an annual basis only.
  • You may create your ad, or we will do it for you. Ads must be 60 x 500 pixels in size and may be JPG images or GIF images or animated GIF.
  • Banner Advertisers are also featured in the Quik-Info tab of our Site Navigation so visitors can get to your site easily whether your banner ad is showing or not.

Based on Page Views for the year August, 2007 - July, 2008 and assuming 40 banner ads (and we've never had that many) the cost per impression would be: $ 0.00615. For the year 2007, assuming 40 ads in rotation (actually less than 35), the cost per impression was $ 0.0064

How Many People Will See Your Ad

The number of people seeing your ad will depend on how many ads are in rotation. As of August, 2008 this number has always been below 40 and is currently 36. All ads are in random rotation; a given ad may pop up 2 or 3 times in a row; over the period of a day, all ads will be seen the same number of times. The number of Toledo-Bend.com website visitors that will see your ad, therefore, is the number of pages visited divided by the number of ads.

Our visitor numbers are based as follows: Hit Counter - this is the counter on the HOME page. It is triggered each time someone loads the Home page for viewing. Visitors - The number of visitors as measured by Google Analytics counter for all pages in the site. Unique Visitors - The number of unique visitors to the website each month - some visitors may be here multiple times in a month - unique visitors are counted only once regardless how many times or pages they visit. This figure comes from Google Analytics. Page Views - the number of pages seen by visitors to the website, as measured by Google Analytics. NOTE: Many visitors go directly to bookmarked pages or come in from search engines or other links and never hit the Home page and, therefore, never register on that counter. Some numbers for Visitors, Unique Visitors and Page Views are extrapolated from Hit Counter numbers - this for the period prior to use of Google Analytics.
