Sunday, June 4, 2000, Waterwood Resort, Lake Livingston, TX.

Flash flood alerts, shifting winds, cloudy skys, and 303 Bass-N-Buck anglers shared Lake Livingston today as the anglers navigated their way into every nook & cranny of this lake to locate and catch their 5 bass/limits. With pre-fishing conditions being tuff on finding good size fish, Bass N Bucks anglers scowered the lake for the "place to be" come Sunday morning.

"This is our 6th team/bass event for our East Texas Circuit 2000 tournament season", informed Bass-N-Bucks Tournament Director, David Concienne, "which is part of the $375,000 guarantee that is paying out $40,000 per tournament event with afully rigged Skeeter/Yamaha-150 bass boat awarded to each 1st place team winner -per- tournament event. "We also pay the top 3 overall big bass per tournament which awards $1,000 for 1st, $500 for 2nd, and $250 for 3rd.' Bonus Money' is also available from our Sponsor, Dawson Marine & Skeeter/Yamaha," David advised, explaining that all Skeeter/Yamaha owners qualify for the bonus money packages worth "big cash" awards for 1st place winners who will also qualify for the upcoming Skeeter Tour Championship as well as the Bass-N-Bucks Championship.

As the anglers arrived back to the weigh-in at Waterwood marina there was at first worrys the the Lake was not giving up any good fish today, but that was soon to end. Most of the previous weeks tournaments had only produced small stringers and that was expected today by all participants. When the 1st 13lb stringer came across the stage early in the weigh in with much fan fare then there was a gasp as a 14+ lb came in then the 1st 16lb stinger and everyone thought that that had to be the winner. Not so fast said the Father son team from near-by Cleveland,Texas as they hefted a 17.17lbsack across the stage beaming as they showed them off with pride. Rick and Jesse Witten spent all their time up White Rock Creek in their Ranger boat todding crawworms and buzz bait from their Castaway rods and Garcia reel then the sun peeked out and WHAM the fish turned on.It was enough to take the tournament almost a full pound.

With all of the pessimism concerning the lack of weigh and fish the tournament had over 50 limits of fish, a total of 405 fish caught with a total weight of almost 900lbs.
