Larry Cupper and Eddie Edwards Capture First North Louisiana Fishers of Men Tournament on Toledo Bend

Saturday, February 12,2000 - San Miguel Park, Toledo Bend, LA .... Fishers of Men opened their tournament season Saturday, February 12th at San Miguel Park on Toledo Bend. Larry Cupper & Eddie Edwards brought to the scales a five fish limit weighing 18.14 lbs. The second place 17.94 lb. stringer was brought in by Robert Anderson and Shane McFadden. Third place was captured by Allen Ryland and Daniel Ryland with a weight of 17.25 lbs., anchored by First Place Big Bass 5.65 lbs. kicker. Second place Big Bass 5.41 lbs. was caught by Robert Anderson and Shane McFadden.

Nineteen teams launched from San Miguel Park Saturday after a small cold front Friday night with temps in the middle 40's. Sabine River Authority provided the big pavilion for the Friday night meeting, tent for weigh in, and catch & release barge. Hats off and a big thank you SRA for these services.

Fishers of Men had a fish fry for the fishermen on Friday night. Melissa Newman did a great job of special singing. Glen Freeman, a Shimano rep, gave pointers on the right rod for the right job. Al Odom, National Director of FOM, provided the message with five men giving their life to Jesus and eight men making new commitments to Christ. Glory to God.

Ask any of the guys that competed in this tournament and you will know why this circuit is growing at such a fast pace. Twenty four divisions this year all across the US.

You still have plenty of time to get involved. Next tournament is March 10, Friday night cooking and program at San Miguel Park at 6:00 p.m.--fishing tournament March 11th, kickoff at safe daylight at San Miguel.
