13.40 Wins Angler's Choice East Texas Team on Lake Livingston

The aftermath of Tropical Depression Allison kept the number of anglers sparse, which made this a "good point tournament", but for those who did survive the weather they were blessed with warm temperatures, moderate winds and a bright sunny day to fish the tournament. The lake was higher than usual due to all the rain, but the fish were still biting for those who braved the waters and most were pleased with their finishing. The championship for this tournament trail with be held in November on Lake Amistad

1st place 5 bass(13.40 lbs)$1145.00-----Richard Carpenter of Jasper, Tx came out on top even though he was without his usual fishing partner for the day. He was well pleased with his finishings for this day due to the fact that the day before he wasn't as lucky. Richard positioned his Ranger/Mercury over midlake using Castaway rods and Quantum reels with 15 lb Big game test line to reel his fish in using brush hogs and flippin rigs. Richard stated that he stayed in shallow areas flippin reeds , he was told from fellow team mates that fishing the grass points was the best way to go.

2nd place 5 bass (10.83 lbs) $570.00-----Clayton and Roger Boulware of Zavalla, TX postioned their Cobra/Mercury bass rig on the south in of the lake on rocks using Kistler rods/Shimano reels and Stanley Titanium and 3/8 Spinner baits to catch their fish. Clayton stated that the wind kept him form his usual fishing hole, but was able to use his secondary fishing hole to catch their fish all and was well pleased with their final results.

3rd place 5 bass(9.81 lbs)$430.00-------Husband and wife team Donnie and Juanita Robinson of the Highlands, postioned ther Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig in the Waterwood area to use their Smith American rods and Penical reels with 17 lb Maxima test line with brush hogs and crankbaits to make their catches with which they had a limit around 9:00 that morning flippin the grass reeds.

Big Bass 4.91 lbs $290.00------Matt Reed of Trinity, TX captured big bass of the day. Matt caught his fish earlier in the day then turned it in way before weigh-in to make another tournament.

All the bass that were caught were alive and had a 100 % release. Sponsors: Berkley, Abu Garcia, Cabelo's, Motor Guide, Fenwick, Mercury Outboards, HT Marine, Interstate Batteries, and Bass Cat.
