Kickapoo Bait and Tackle Thursday Night Tournament

Onalaska, TX-----It is definitely summer time here in East Texas! With the hot, humid conditions with little or no winds at all, and somewhat clear water conditions, 32 anglers came out to fish one of Lake

Livingstons favorite tournament for this time of year. The Thursday night tournament sponsored by Gene and Kay Swann of Kickapoo Bait and Tackle in Onalaska promises to pay an 80% pay back for the top three winners the night of the tournament and a 10% amount is deposited in an escrow account to be paid back at the last tournament of the year for the top 3 largest bass of the year ---the final pot is now up to $1565.00.

The entry fee for this tournament is $25.00 and if you should have any questions or would like to enter the tournament, you can contact the directors Gene and Kay Swann at (936)646-5253 or (936)646-4478. 1st place angler (3.91 lbs)--$320.00 Rodney Ward of Trinity, TX placed his ProCraft/Johnson bass rig over the south end of the lake on laydowns using a chartreuse worm on a Falcon Rod and Garcia reel spooled with 20 lb Berkley Big Game test line.

2nd place angler ( 4.41 lbs.)--$192.00 Burl Avery of Onalaska, Tx positioned his Ranger/Mercury bass boat over midlake and using the boat docks as his main point of focus. He caught his winning black bass on a Florida Brush hog using Shimano Rod and Reel spooled with 20 lbs Trilene test line.

3rd place angler (2.23 lbs.)--$128.00 Larry Jenkins of Livingston, TX placed his Cajun/Mercury bass rig in about 25 feet of water focusing his cast at a 5ft ledge to capture his 3rd place winning black bass using a crankbait on a Garcia rod and reel with 840 Spiderwire.

There was a 100% release of at the end of the weigh in of all the angler's bass. Come on out and have some fun with us on Thursday night. The last tournament of the year wiil be September 26 so hurry on out.
