Oklahoma "Consistency" Pays Off At Rayburn EverStart
-Silsbee TX Angler Takes Co/Angler Win-

$185,000 Wal-Mart/Operation Bass Central Division EverStart Series
Saturday, April 7, 2001, Wal-Mart Super Store, Jasper, TX.

As the small fleet of bass boats were escorted onto the parking lot of the Jasper TX, Super Wal-Mart store, the grueling four-day long EverStart "bass-a-thon" finally began easing into its closing moments today as its tired, but proud anglers who had topped the original field of 172 teams who arrived from 24 states to compete, prepared for their final weigh-in. Truly the best bass fishermen in their class, these anglers would represent eight states for the final day which saw an Oklahoma Pro claim the top honor.

Offering over $2.5 Million in cash & prizes for their 2001 EverStart tournament series, the Operation Bass based circuit is a Pro/Angler-Co/Angler format, which draws its teamed fishing partners on a daily basis. After two days of competitive fishing the field of anglers are culled down to the top thirty teams for day three competition. After the 3rd day of competitive angling the field is then further culled to the top 10 teams for the final day weigh-in, which is held at the Super Wal-Mart store in Jasper, TX. A three division national circuit, the EverStart tournament series accommodates the skill levels of all anglers for qualifying for the $325,000 EverStart Championship, which in turn provides an opportunity for advancement to the National Wal-Mart FLW Tour.
