2001 Tracker Boat Owners Team Tournament
Sunday, October 14,2001, Shirley Creek Marina, Lake Sam Rayburn, TX.
High Pressure bluebird sunshine replaced the previous back -to- back cold fronts, which blew through the lake area with tornado warnings and flash-flooding showers, but a muddy four-inch rain-off greeted the 84 teamed Tracker Boat anglers who launched out of Shirley Creek Marina to compete in the Tracker Boat Owners event for Lake Sam Rayburn .
All those who are Tracker Boat owners are eligible to fish this event, stated the tournament director, whether they own a Tracker or Nitro boat with a minimum of 9.9 horse power engine, a live well system, and an emergency stop (kill) switch, are eligible to fish and compete in this event. "This eligibility also includes those who own Sun Tracker, Tracker Deck-boats, or Tahoe Sport Boats. "We also have a year-end Championship event where the top 20% in each qualifying event will be invited to attend our Fall Championship event at Table Rock Lake in Missouri. "These events are "buddy tournaments" and the owner of the boat must be in the boat at all times.

bass-rig over south-lake grass to work Castaway rods and Shimano reels
spooled with 15/20 lb test Berkely Big Game mono. The 1st place team caught
their bass by fishing red-bug Reaction wacky worms and Toledo Town &
Tackle plum-apple Bandits over 10' to 12' grass for an all day bite.

40 Mercury bass-rig up in a north-lake creek area to work Bass Pro rods
and reels and Mitchell rods and Shimano reels spooled with 12 lb test
Stren. They fished red 1 / 2 oz Stanley spinner baits with dbl gold willows
around fall-downs to catch their bass.

Big Bass Overall-(3.70 lbs)-Mark Kemp/Jack Kemp-$234
"My dad caught the big bass, stated Mark Kemp of San Antonio TX,
explaining that it was their "only" keeper bass of the day.
"He caught it on a black/blue Tube bait while fishing a north-lake
lilly-pad and stump area. Jack Kemp of Winter Haven FLA, was working a
Shakespeare rod and Zebco 33 reel spooled with 12 lb test Trilene when
he caught and landed the bass in his sons Nitro/Mercury bass-rig.
2nd Big Bass-(3.68 lbs)-Dennis Tietje/Jeff Tall-$156
"Luck-O-The Draw" Bass Tracker "Special Edition" Pro/Team 175XT/Mercury 50 bass boat - Valued at $11,100 - Chad Johnson/Richard Gates USAF Lackland AFB- San Antonio, TX.
All bass were recovered and live released by the Tracker Boars fish recovery team.
