Larry Jenkins & Dale Hill Win!! Saturday Team Series Lake Livingston, Onalaska, Tx Anglers Quest 2002 Twin Lake Saturday Series # 5 on Lake Livingston out of KickApoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, Tx began this event with 36 Teams showing up to fish for the all cash purse of $1700.00. The tournament began with the playing of the National Anthem at safe light which was 6:20 am. Weigh-in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This series will provide a total of 20 events, 10 on Livingston out of KickApoo Bait & Tackle and 10 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina. The Series after all 20 events will provide the TeamAnglers of the year with free entries to all 2003 Saturday Series events. The Saturday Series Championship will be held on November 9-10 and will be held on both lakes and will take the top 35 Teams.All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions and big bass pot auction which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $65.00 per team. Lake Livingston water was in very good shape. The weather at takeoff was 70 degrees and calm winds, but when Mother Nature figured out that it was tournament day...the winds switched from the south to the north and the temperature dropped 20 degrees in about15 minutes and even got some rain to boot, the remainder of the day was windy and cool in the low 50's. Larry Jenkins & Dale Hill won this event with 5 bass that tipped the scales at 18.21 lbs and collected $400.00. Larry and Dale also had the 3rd big bass in their bag at 4.44 lbs. The winning team reported catching their bass on spinner baits and crank baits in the Kickapoo Creek area, around boat docks and shallow brush. David Wheaton & Tansley Bynog Sr. finished in 2nd with 5 bass at 15.05 lbs and collected $280.00. David & Tansley reported catching their bass on the south end of the lake on jigs and craw worms. Joe New fishing alone weighed in 5 bass caught in the river on spinner baits and craw worms that tipped the scales at 14.25 lbs to finish in 3rd place and collected $200.00. Stanton Marsh & Alan Moore had 5 bass that weighing in at 13.01 lbs to grab 4th place and $160.00. Jim Sewell & Robin Babb grabbed the last money spot at 5th place with 5 bass that tipped the scales at 11.95 lbs. Matt Dobbins & Shawn Blair brought in the Big Bass of the event that tipped the scales at 4.93 lbs and netted them $252.00. Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson, Saturday Series Anglers of the Year from 2001 brought in the events 2nd Big Bass at a very, very close 4.92 lbs. Ricky Guy & Larry Cotten finished in 6th place, 1st out of the money with a nice limit of bass, 11.72 lbs and received (2) $10 gift certificates from KickApoo Bait & Tackle.
