2002 Media Bass Southeast Division Team Tournament Tour A late spring cool front provided cloud cover for most of the day as 17 teams launched into Rayburn waters to fish this Media Bass event. But the easterly winds must have blunted the bass-bite as low weights were recorded at the Twin Dikes Marina tournament site. But evens so, the winners managed to put a 12.26 lb weight on the scale. 1st place-(12.26)- Ryan Williams of Katy TX, and Ray Myers of Moscow TX, put their Nitro/Mercury bass-rig over Veach and Caney Creek grass and brush to work FLW rods and Abu-Garcia reels spooled with 17 lb test Stren line. The 1st place team fished 4'-6' grass and brush in Caney Creek and Veach Basin with Zoom watermelon/red trick-worms and Senko's to catch their weight. 2nd place-(12.07)- Pete Shivers of Sam Rayburn TX, ran his Champion/Mercury bass-rig to San Augustine area 14' "heavy-grass" to fish watermelon/red and red-bug "Dead-Ringers" to catch his bass, which included a 3.72 big-bite that took the tournament "overall" big bass honor. 3rd place-(11.60)- Tim Palculict of Beaumont TX, and Charles Latham of Orange TX, put their Skeeter/Yamaha bass-rig over mid-lake grass to fish Zoom watermelon/red trick-worms and Senko's. The 3rd place team worked 4'-6' grass-patches to catch their weight.
