With174 teams launching into Toledo Bend waters to fish this final event of the 2002 team-splash season strong thunderstorms began moving in to "ruff-up" the anglers with gusting winds, pelting rains, and dangerous lightning, making the final weigh-in for the 2002 season of the team-splash circuit a most interesting one, marking a 5 bass/17.43 lb win for a husband & wife team from Houston, TX. 'This is our very first year of fishing tournaments together, informed wife, Lorie Woodward, and I never expected for us to win $10,750 "JUST" to go fishing and having fun with my husband!

'This is our fourth and final team-splash event for our 2002 season, informed Bob Sealy, CEO/Director for Sealy Outdoors, 'which will qualify our top team-splash anglers for the $81,000 Sealy Outdoors Team-Splash Championship, which will be held as a split lake event on Lake Sam Rayburn and Lake Toledo Bend. 'We, at Sealy Outdoors, wish to thank all of the team-splash anglers who've fished our circuit this year, and we especially wish to thank our tournament sponsors for helping us produce such a successful tournament series that averaged 236 teams for our 2002 team-splash events this year. 'A $260,000 cash & prize guarantee was offered for our 2002 Team-Splash tournament series this year, which paid our Team-Splash anglers a guaranteed $44,000 per event with $10,000 CASH for 1st place and $4,000 CASH for 2nd place.
