Fellowship, Family-Ship, and Fishing Fun Enjoyed at Toledo Lil' Buddies Event
By Ed Snyder

S/E Texas B.A.S.S. Federation Lil' Buddies Tournament Tour
Saturday, June 15, 2002, Lowe's Creek Marina, Lake Toledo Bend, TX.

The high-noon weigh-in arrived cool & sunny at Lowe's Creek Marina after a late season cold front provided almost purr-fect weather conditions for those family fishing teams who signed up to have fun at this Lil' Buddies event. And after all of the Goo, Gill, Chinquapin, Sac-au-lait, Green-trout, and "giggles" were weighed and tallied, those who attended for fun & family were treated with prizes and awards for their fishing efforts.

"This tournament event is open to all who wish to enjoy family togetherness, stated Lil' Buddy director Gary Smith, as we allow for children from 3 to 17 years of age to team up with adult parents, or guardians, to fish for 'whatever' is biting. They can fish either from the bank or boat from safelight to noon before weighing their fish in for prizes at the tournament site. "We fish the three age groups of (A)-beginners, (B)-juniors, and (C)-advanced, which have there own levels of fishing expertise. "Those teams who fish our tour to accumulate fishing points will qualify for the Lil' Buddies 'Educational Funding' Championship to be held on October 26, 2002. "Our next two Lil' Buddy events will be held on July 6 at Lake Sam Rayburn and August 3 on Lake Conroe TX.
