Lil' Buddy Anglers Enjoy A "Fire-Cracker" Weekend
By Ed Snyder

S/E Texas B.A.S.S. Federation Lil' Buddies Tournament Tour
Saturday, July 6, 2002, Millcreek Park, Lake Sam Rayburn, TX.

There couldn't have been a more opportune time to involve family togetherness than at this July 4th weekend as family groups spent their Independence Holiday with the S/E TX, BASS Federation to enjoy a Lil' Buddies tournament day. Our forefathers who set aside this day to formerly celebrate our Nations Birthday must have had these children in mind, as they will become the future leaders and guardians of our countries freedoms, and the South East Texas B.A.S.S. Federation group provided a perfect stage for this celebration of Family, Country, and Honor! …………… "God Bless America!!"

"Our family fishing events are open to all who wish to enjoy family togetherness, stated Lil' Buddy tournament director Gary Smith, as we involve children from 3 to 17 years of age to team up with parents or guardians to fish for "whatever" is biting. They can fish from the bank, a boat, or a pier from safelight to the noon weigh-in to win prizes for their bass, crappie, perch, catfish, or "whatever" catches. The three angler age groups of (A)-beginners, (B)-juniors, and (C)-advanced, are teamed up to compete against their own age groups, which lets them compete within their own skill levels. Those children who fish the Lil' Buddy tournaments will then accumulate fishing points to qualify for the Lil' Buddies Educational Funding Championship event, which will be held on October 26, 2002. (Lake TBA) Our next Lil' Buddy tournament event will be held August 3 on Lake Conroe TX. So come on out to enjoy a family fun weekend with us, Gary Smith invited."
