The Media Bass tournament trail anglers enjoyed a beautiful day of fishing this Easter weekend. Gordon Stauffer, tournament director welcomed the 41 teams who came to get their share in the cash with 8 places being paid plus one big bass check. This was the third of six events for this tournament trail. There were a lot of teams in this event that are all very familiar with the winners circle. With Sam Rayburn's level lowering almost daily, they were all kept on their toes putting their skills to the test trying to keep up with the factors that add up to a big bass on the end of their line.

st place - 22.97 lbs - $2,000 - Chris Wilkerson of Livingston and Scott David of Goodrich, TX have been on a roll lately winning tournaments, and their luck held for them again for this event. Site fishing with Gene Larew bubble gum colored craw worms, they stayed out of the high winds and waves in protected coves pitching in the bushes. They had their first fish on the line in about 3 minutes once they reached their fishing hole. It weighed in at 6.30 lbs, also earning them the big bass check. Scott reported that 5 minutes later they had their other big bass in the boat and their tournament was off to a great start. They finished their first limit by 9:00 and was able to cull another 3 bass up to their final weight. This team is sponsored by Dave Mungenast Motor Sports, Texas Tire, Bridgestone Tire, Ranger Boats, Falcon Lures, Castaway Rods, Falcon Rods and Travis Boating Center.

nd place - 19.33 lbs - $730 lbs - Bobby Barrares and Micah Griffith, both of Center, TX took second place honors using a black & blue ½ ounce jig with a Reaction camo Dog Paddle Trailer. Finding their fish on windy main lake points, they fished 2-4' depths in the bushes. They enjoyed an all day bite they had their first limit in the boat by 10:00 and was able to cull their weight up three times. This team is sponsored by Port-A-Cool Fishing Team, Mustad Hooks, Reaction Lures, Champion Boats and Yamaha Motors.

rd place - 17.03 lbs - $480 - Scooter Clark of Center, TX and Jason Wells of San Augustine did some "fast flippin'" in the bushes for their catch. Working down the banks bush to bush with black neon tube baits, their best bite came early but they caught three limits of fish throughout the day. This team is sponsored by Castaway Rods and Ranger Boats.

th place - 16.38 lbs - $410 - Pablo Torres and Steve Gardner, both of Lufkin, TX brought in a nice 5.63 lb kicker to go with their limit. Their best bite came after 11:00 and they used carolina rigged watermelon candy french fries in less than 5' depths on windy points. Happy with their catch the team reported having a great day of fishing.
