Triple S Industrial 12th Annual Tournament

Triple "S" Industrial Corporation held it's 12th Annual Bass Tournament on May 22, 2004 out of Mill Creek Park on Lake Sam Rayburn. There were 210 teams competing for over $15,000.00 in cash and prizes.

The team of Buddy & Gay Day captured Big Bass honors with Gay's 9.86 pound Rayburn sow worth $2,500.00. Buddy & Gay also won the 7-8 o'clock hour with this fish, which was worth an additional $500.00. They also captured ninth in the overall stringer category with three bass tipping the scales at 13.61 for an additional check worth $150.00. The Days had an overall payday of $3,150.00.

First place overall stringer went to the team of Tommy Quave and Mark Durand. Quave and Durand's five bass weighed in at 21.48 pounds and were worth $750.00. Their five fish limit was anchored with two Rayburn beauties, an 8.32 which won big bass of the 8-9 o'clock hour worth $500.00 and 6.88 which took second in the 11-12 o'clock hour worth $250.00 for a total payday of $1,500.00.

The team of Chad Guidry and Chris Hall captured second place overall big bass with an 8.96 pound Rayburn largemouth worth a $1,000.00. This fish was the second largest bass in the 7-8 o'clock hour worth $250.00. Guidry and Hall also took third place in the overall stringer category with five bass weighing in at 15.27 pounds worth an additional $500.00. Guidry and Hall had an overall payday worth $1,750.00.

Sammy Atchinson and Kris Wilson took second place in the overall stringer category with five bass weighing in at 15.64 pounds, worth $600.00. Sammy and Kris also captured a couple of hourly checks. They took third in the 8-9 o'clock hour with a 4.78 pound bass worth $125.00 and third in the 12-1 o'clock hour with 5.07 worth $125.00 for a total payday of $850.00.

Johnny Okun and Kenneth Lindsey tied for the largest perch both weighing in a 1.80 pound crappie for a $300.00 check.

Jeff Vincent won the large catfish division with a 2.29-pound cat worth $400.00.

This year's event was the largest to date conducted by Triple "S" Industrial Corporation and we would like to personally thank all of the employees, contestants, vendors and clients for their support and/or participation. Next year's event is scheduled for Saturday May 14, 2005 on Lake Sam Rayburn with the weigh-in at the Umphrey Family Pavillion.
