Robert Houge and Eddie Ellisor Capture White Bass Title!!
By Bill Webb

On a hot June day on Lake Livingston 60 teamed anglers enjoyed Fathers Day fishing the 11th Annual White Bass tournament. Penwaugh Marina (Beth and Harry Dethan) have hosted and catered this event since day one. They have been the white bass headquarters for Lake Livingston and we want to say to them a special thanks for continuing this event. Many sons, dads, and others have enjoyed this tournament. Always in the money and often on top Robert Houge and Eddie Ellisor fished in 8 ft of water with spinner baits tossed from their Castaway rods. The best bite occured around 1pm this helped them weigh in 10 fish at a total of 16.90 lbs with their big bass weighing 2.07 lbs. Winning them 1st place and a check for $398.00 each , so for this year the trophy and title goes to Coldsprings till next season.

Very close behind, the team of Clinton and Charles Reynolds were fishing water 8-10 ft deep. They were tossing spinner tubes and racked in a nice total of 16.21 lbs netting them a nice check of $248.00 each for the afternoon effort.

The father and son team of Randy and Slade Dearman has been a regular top runner in this tournament also and again here they are rounding out the top 3. Always very secretive about much information we did find out that they were fishing "deep". By pulling in a limit at 15.78 lbs they netted a check of $149.00 each.

Rolling tubes must have worked great for Travis Hawkins. Moving his boat with a Mercury motor he found that the 11 AM hour was good to him. He pulled in a 2.19 lb white bass and smiled as he walked off with the trophy for Big Bass and a check for $450.00. Not bad for a fun day of fishin' whites on Lake Livingston.
