Waterwood Resort
Breezy, Summer-like day awaited the 140 teamed anglers of the East Texas Honey Hole Team Tournament on Lake Livingston in mid-May.The morning started out calm and it seems so did the bass. Most anglers were struggling by 9 AM to catch fish but most were rewarded by 11 AM they started hitting and the wind was starting to blow.Well as fate, luck, or SKILL would have it a well known team from Coldsprings were fishing purple curley tail worms in 5' of water pull ing in a great stringer.Brian and Chip Sewell, usual strong contenders, weighed in at Waterwood Marina with a good stringer of 18.47 lbs to capture the lead and win the tournament. To help them out they also had 3rd big bass of the day which added $140 to the $1400 they won for 1st place. As the duo is closed lips on location all we could extract was "down south".

Another local who finished in the top was Jeffery Vavrawho while fishing by himself, pulled in a limit weighing 14.76 lbs. He was a mere .07 lbs from 2nd place, but was thrilled to have done so well.He also had his bites later in the morning with most coming in after 11 AM his fish were seduced in the boat with carolina-rigged Gary Yamamoto worms in approximately 8' of water.
