5th Annual Lakecaster White Bass Fever Team-Challenge won by "trolling"

"Father's Day"- Sunday, June 20, 1999, Penwaugh Marina, Lake Livingston, Tx.

Lake Livingston, the 2nd largest reservoir wholly within the State of Texas with over 93,000 surface acres and 450 miles of shoreline, provides a virtual water wonderland of aguatic outdoor adventures for those who enjoy "quality-fun" on a "quality-lake".. One of Livingston's major attractions is, and has always been, the abundance of White Bass that "swarm" within its waters. Each year, hundereds of thousands of anglers launch into Livingston's waters to eagerly fish for these sporty game-fish as each year "Millions"of these silvery striped fish create a "Spring-Fever" pitch of outdoor pleasures for those anglers who like to catch fish, and plenty of them, as the Lake Livingston White Bass provides an amazing fishery which often witnesses from 15 to 20 acres of surface schooling Whites for some really "incredible" topwater fishing action. "Truely", Lake Livingston can claim the "Braggin' Rights" as being the "White Bass Capitol of Texas".

Trolling on Lake Livingston Has always been the easiest way to catch white bass but not it also became the way to win tournaments with a good weight.Travis Hawkins and Chad Heitman of Alvin Texas drove into town and hooked on Tony Acetta pet spoons and idled away with a cool $500 with a weight of 14.16lbs to win 1st place. They were fishing in 13-18' of water near Kickapoo flats.Making the move from last years 4th place win,the team of William Freeman and Tarry Jackson won 2nd place with a heafty stringer of 13.57lbs, winning a cool $250.Last years winner did place 3rd with 13.40 to win $150.The Father and Son team of Bob and Jess Watson wom 4th with a nice 13.04 winning $100.Eddie Ellisor of Coldspring and partner Todd Castledine caught the big fish, the heavist since the Lakecaster tournaments started, of 2.30 lbs winning them $250.

Now in its 11th year of operations, the Lake Livingston Lakecaster, the #1 promotional publication for the Lake Livingston area, has coordinated and produced its White Bass series of team tournaments which provide a fun-filled day on the lake for those who enjoy fishing at competitive levels. Warmly received and "HOTLY" contested, the Lakecaster White Bass Fever Team Tournament offers "braggin' rights" to those who "challenge" the right to claim the title of being "the best" white bass team-anglers on Lake Livingston, Tx.
