Anglers Choice Amateur Tourny on Lake Livingston
By BILL WEBB

Even with stormy weather Anglers Choice draws a good crowd on Lake Livingston.Over 140 anglers withstood the off and on stormy conditions here in mid-June to try and find the elusive "big" stringer to win the tourny.Although most anglers were wishing for a peek of sun to help the slow bite, it did not happen. The teams starting weighing in with few having and heavy weights but,it was settled when Coldspring father and son team of Jimmy and Todd Castledine brought in their stinger of 14.25 lbs. They were very shy to tell anyone exactly where they fished except that they did not go south of the 190 bridge.Using mostly worms and fishing shallow they caught thier limit early in the day and were not able to cull anymore till afternoon ,but with their kicker of 5.36(2nd big bass) they pulled out enough to win the day and a total of $1,195.Another local team of Larry Jenkins and Dale Hill were eased out of second and settled for third place with a nice catch of 12.77lbs.Second place went to Vince Neal and Harold Moore who finally came to the stage at the last minute with a weight of 13.59lbs. Big bass went to Angler Choice regular Mary Granger with a nice fish weighing 5.71lbs.She and partener David Katcher also won 7th place.
