As the new Regional Director for the S.E. Texas Region of the Texas B.A.S.S. Federation I would like to say thank you to all of the members who supported my nomination and elected me to this position. I am looking forward to a very exciting new year for the State Federation and our region in particular. Our past Director, Randy Kindler, has been elected State President and has left some very large shoes for me to try to fill. I believe that the B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation program is the very best organization that a bass club can affiliate with. Not only do we have the support of the worlds premier fishing organization, The Bass Angler's Sportsman Society, we have some of the most dedicated people in the nation supporting our goals as recreational fishermen.

The Federation gives the amateur angler a chance to go to the prestigious Bass Master's Classic. Our conservation and youth programs are second to none thanks to our very generous national and local sponsors. Our region hosts the Lil' Buddies Tournament circuit. An adult/ youth team circuit with the sole purpose of getting families to participate in a great outdoors sport. Our bass clubs host local Casting Kids Tournaments, which are part of the National Program in which the children can work their way all the way to the National title held at the Bass Masters Classic.

The S. E. Texas Region. currently has 21 affiliated clubs with approximately 600 total anglers represented.

Congratulations to Alan Bond for winning the coveted Angler of the Year Award. He has earned an automatic position on the 12 man state team and if he does well at the State Tournament in April he could represent our region at the divisionals and possibly the Classic. Last year we averaged 89 fisherman per tournament. This year we will hold 5 regional tournaments, one each on Sam Rayburn, Conroe, and Livingston and two on Toledo Bend. The top twenty anglers will fish in a Championship for a jackpot purse. Our tournament director for this season is Robert Royal from the Vidor Bass Anglers.

Thanks to the generous offer of Lakecaster Publications I will be keeping you informed of all Federation events and results in a monthly newsletter format on this page. We are still seeking sponsors and advertisers to support this page. If you are interested, please contact me or Ed Snyder the managing editor and promotional director. If you would like more information on the region, affiliating your bass club, tournament information or information on our youth or conservation projects please call me or the appropriate director at the above phone numbers.
