Sealy Outdoors Mega Whitetail winners

Jim Farmer and Todd Lee take the top honors at Sealy Outdoors Mega Whitetail Bucks Texas Big Bucks contest, which covered the 1998-99 Texas hunting season.

Over $100,000, in guaranteed cash and prizes, was awarded to the top finalists of the 2nd Annual Big Buck Contest with Jim Farmer, of Carrolton, Texas, winning the overall Texas Grand Champion Division from Region I, which paid him over $22,000 in cash and prizes; including a 1999 Dodge truck from Weaver Motors of Kirbyville, Texas.

Jim's deer was scored by Horace Gore and Bob Zaiglin, which netted 190 2/8 Non-Typical, Boone & Crockett. Jim stated that he and several friends had been on this 8,600 acre open range deer lease for approximately six years and that this was the only deer harvested this past season. The Panhandle of Texas is one of the best-kept secrets in Texas but now with Jim's deer and his winnings the cats out of the bag.

Todd Lee, of Grenada, Mississippi, entered the Archery Division and was amazed and in shock when his 166 net Boone & Crockett deer harvested from the King Ranch netted him over $12,000 in cash and prizes including a Polaris Sportsman 500 and a USA Ventura Craft Trailblazer Camper with Highrider loading system.

Todd's deer not only won the overall Archery Grand Champion Awards but the actual harvest of his deer was filmed by Bill Jordan's Real Tree film crew and can be seen on the new video Monster Bucks VII which will be coming out soon.
