Lakeview Campground

Lakeview is 14 miles southeast of Hemphill, TX off Farm to Market Road 2928. This area is open for camping, has chemical toilets and water available. There is a primitive boat ramp, as well.

The area is open all year and all overnight visitors are required to pay a camping fee. While you should check on camping fees, from 2000 - June, 2010 they have held steady at $4 per campsite and $2 per vehicle for day use. This area is located on Toledo Bend Reservoir.

Directions:

From Hemphill, Tx.:

  • Take Highway South to Six Mile - junction of Highway 2928
  • Turn East on Highway 2928 and go 3.5 miles to end of paved road; follow signs to Lakeview (approx. 4 miles).

This area is located at the Lakeview Trailhead for the Trail Between the Lakes, a 28 mile hiking trail running between Toledo Bend Reservoir and Sam Rayburn Reservoir.
