    The folks of Sabine County believe in serving their community. There are a variety of organizations who are dedicated to making the county a better place in which to live. If you are moving to Sabine County and would like to become a new member of one of the organizations, or if you are transferring your membership, the following list should help you start in becoming involved in the community.

  • American Legion Post 197 - The American Legion meets the fourth Tuesday of each month except November and December. The meetings are at 6:30 p.m. at the Post located next to the Hemphill Dixie League Baseball Complex on Edwards Street.
  • Art League of Sabine - The Art League meets the second Thursday of each month, with no meeting scheduled in December. The meetings are at 6 p.m. at the East Sabine Senior Services building on Hwy. 184 West of Hemphill.
  • B# Square Dance Club - The B# Square Dance Club meets for dances the second Saturday of each month at 8 p.m. The club holds practices each Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. The monthly dances and the weekly practices are held at the Sabine County Youth Center on Hwy. 184 West of Hemphill.
  • Boy Scout Troop 966 - Boy Scout Troop 966 meets each Wednesday at the Hemphill School cafetorium. The meetings begin at 4 p.m.
  • Bronson Masonic Lodge No. 893 - Bronson Masonic Lodge meets the third Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Lodge on Hwy. 184 in Bronson.
  • Bronson Order of Eastern Star No. 337 - Bronson Order of Eastern Star meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Bronson Lodge on Hwy. 184 in Bronson.
  • Brookeland Masonic Lodge No. 935 - Brookeland Masonic Lodge meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Lodge in Brookeland.
  • Busy Bee Extension Club - The Busy Bees meet the first Tuesday of each month The club's meetings are held at the First United Methodist Church across from Hemphill School. Meetings begin at 2 p.m.
  • Cub Scout Pack 444 Cub Scout Pack 444 has a pack meeting the last Thursday of each month. These meetings are held at the Pineland First Methodist Church at 7 p.m.
  • Daughters of the American Revolution - The Daughters of the American Revolution meet the second Monday of each month. Meetings are held at the Jasper Bell Jim Hotel, downtown Jasper, at 11:30 am.
  • Daughters of the Republic of Texas - The Daughters of the Republic of Texas meets the second Saturday of February, March, April, October, November and December. Meetings are held at the J.R. Huffman Public Library on Hwy. 87 North in Hemphill and begin at 10:30 am.
  • Economic Development Committee - Meets first Thursday each month at the Temple Training Center in Pineland, Tx.
  • El Camino Shrine Club - The Shrine Club meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings rotate.
  • Fairmount Aerobics - The Fairmount Aerobics club meets on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. at the Fairdale Baptist Church.
  • Fairmount Friendship Club - The Fairmount Friendship Club meets the second Thursday of each month for lunch. meeting site rotates.
  • Friends of the Library - Friends of the J.R. Huffman Public Library meets the second Saturday of each month. Meetings are held at the library on Hwy. 87 North in Hemphill at 1 p.m.
  • Girl Scouts - The county has approximately eight Girl Scout troops. The troops meet at different locations.
  • Golden Needle Quilters - The Golden Needle Quilters meets every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.
  • Grandmothers Club of Toledo Bend #995 - The Grandmothers Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. Meeting site rotates.
  • Hemphill Athletic Boosters - Hemphill's Athletic Boosters meet the first and second Monday of each month at 6 PM. in the Hemphill School's new gymnasium.
  • Hemphill Band Boosters - The Band Boosters meet the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the school's band hall.
  • Hemphill Fellowship of Christian Athletes - Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets the first and third Friday of each month (Sept. through May) at 7:30 p.m. in the old gym.
  • Hemphill Garden Club - Hemphill Garden Club meets the third Friday of each month (except December) at noon at the Garden Center located on Hwy. 83 West in Hemphill.
  • Hemphill Ministerial Alliance - The Hemphill Ministerial Alliance meets the third Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hemphill
  • Hemphill Morning Lions Club - The Morning Lions Club meets each Tuesday morning. Meetings are held at Twitty's Restaurant, Hwy. 87 North in Hemphill, at 7 a.m.
  • Hemphill Noon Lions Club - The Hemphill Noon Lions Club meets at noon each Wednesday. Meetings are held at Twitty's Restaurant located on Hwy. 87 North in Hemphill.
  • Hemphill/San Augustine Camp of the Gideons International - The Gideons meet every Sunday morning at 7 a,m, Meeting site rotates.
  • Lakes Area Riders Chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association- The Lakes Area Riders meet every other Monday at 6:30 p.m. Meeting site rotates.
  • Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge No. 305 - Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings am held at the Lodge on Texas Street south of the Hemphill square.
  • Milam Settlers Day Organization - Milam Settlers Day Organization meets the second Tuesday of each month at-6 p.m. The meetings are held at the concession stand in Eli Camino Park, located on Hwy. 21 in Milam.
  • Mothers Against Drunk Driving - MADD meets the third Monday of each month at 5:15 p.m. Meetings are held at Shelby Savings Bank's meeting room, on the square in Hemphill.
  • Pineland Masonic Lodge No. 1166 - Pineland Masonic Lodge meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Lodge in Pineland.
  • Pineland Ministerial Alliance - Pineland Ministerial Alliance meets the first Thursday of each month at 5 30 p.m. Meeting site rotates.

  • Sabine County 4-H Club - The Sabine County 4-H meets the third Monday of each month (September through May) at the Sabine County Youth Foundation building on Hwy, 184 West of Hemphill. Meetings are at 6 p.m.
  • Sabine County Chamber of Commerce - The Chamber of Commerce meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Chamber office on Hwy. 87 North in Hemphill.
  • Sabine County Economic Renewal Committee - The Economic Renewal Committee meets the first Thursday of each month at7 p.m. Meetings are held at the Temple-Inland Training Room in Pineland.
  • Sabine County Hospital Auxiliary - The Hospital Auxiliary meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Sabine County Hospital on Hwy. 83W of Hemphill. Meetings are at 1 p.m.
  • Sabine County Junior Livestock Show Committee - The Junior Livestock Show Committee meets the fourth Thursday of each month following the Sabine County Youth Foundation's meeting. Meetings are at the Youth Foundation Building on Hwy. 184 West of Hemphill.
  • Sabine County Republican Club - The Republican Club meets the third Thursday of each month with a pot luck at 6 p.m. followed by a meeting at 7 p.m. Meeting site rotates.
  • Sabine County Youth Foundation - The Youth Foundation meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 P.m. at the Youth Foundation Building on Hwy. 184 West of Hemphill.
  • Scottish Rite Club - The Scottish Rite Club meets the second Monday at 7 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge on Texas Street south of the Hemphill square.
  • Seniors and Lawmen Together - S.A.L.T. meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the East Sabine Senior Services Center on Hwy. 184 West of Hemphill.
  • Sexton Masonic Lodge No. 251 - Sexton Masonic Lodge meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Lodge in Milam.
  • Six Mile Aerobics - The Six Mile Aerobics club meets at 8:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Six Mile.
  • Toledo Bend Amateur Radio Club - The Amateur Radio Club meets the first Saturday of each month Meetings am held at the Hemphill Fire Hall at 7 p.m.
  • Toledo Bend Goodtimers - Toledo Bend Goodtimers meets Mondays at4 p.m. at Fairdale Baptist Church fellowship hall.
  • Texas Toledo Bend Association - The Lake Association meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Meetings are held at the Alpine Marina meeting room on FM 242.
