Brookeland ISD is located in a very rural setting in the southern end of Sabine County bordering Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Pre-K thru 12th grade, students are fully supported by the community. Students at the high school level can participate in Vocational Agricultural programs, Future Homemakers of America and a strong U.I.L. Academic Program . The district has two computer labs, one at the elementary level and one at the high school level. Internet access and TENET access are available in the library and some classrooms. Athletic programs available to students include, basketball, baseball, tennis, track and field and golf.

Hemphill ISD is the largest school district in Sabine County, located in the beautiful pineywoods of East Texas. The district has more than 900 students on three centrally located campuses. The elementary school is for students in Pre-K through fourth grade. The middle school serves students in fifth through seventh grade while the high school is for ninth through twelfth grade.
Hemphill ISD is classified as a 2-A district by the U.I.L. and competes successfully in all U.I.L. sponsored activities. In addition to quality athletic teams and U.I.L. academic/speaking events, the district also has an outstanding band program.
Extra-curricular activities and co-curricular programs contribute to the overall school experience for students., DECA, Youth Rodeo, and many other organizations make valuable contributions to the students' educational experience. The school district is truly a focal point of the community and enjoys widespread support. The current tax rate for M&O is $1.20 with no bonded indebtedness. The district employs 155 employees, 75 professionals and 80 support staff. Much of the school district's 364 sq. miles borders Toledo Bend Reservoir and 15 bus routes are used to transport students.

West Sabine ISD is a 2-A School District in the western portion of Sabine County with 3 campuses in Pineland, Texas. Centrally located between Lake Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend Reservoir, the area is considered by many to be a recreational paradise.
West Sabine ISD serves grades K-12 with approximately 700 students of which over 10% are transfers from other districts, attesting to our reputation for educational excellence. (A fee of $200.00 per family is charged for transfers).
District facilities are in excellent condition, including a new Elementary School (grades K-6), a JR. High School (grades 7-8) and a High School (grades 9-12). The school also has an excellent all-weather track that is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The school district has no bonded indebtedness and currently has a modest tax rate of 1.26 per hundred dollar evaluation. The district has 85 employees, eight bus routes and covers 114 square miles.
