SABINE MEDICAL CENTER is a 48 bed hospital with a 24-hour
physician staffed emergency room.
The Radiology Department includes MRI, Computed Tomography
(CT), Nuclear Medicine, Routine Ultrasound, Bone Density, and Mammography.
In 2001 the hospital opened its new Surgical Services Department with
two modern operating rooms and large Recovery Suite.
The Cardio-Pulmonary Services Department offers a full
range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests. These include, EKG's,
Echocardiograms, Cardiac Stress Testing, Nuclear Stress Testing, Vascular
Ultrasound, and Holter Monitor Recording and Scanning.
The skill mix of our Nursing Staff consists of 73% Registered
Nurses. The majority of our nurses have been certified in both Advance
Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support. The hospital
enjoys exceptionally high seniority with over 50% of our employees having
greater than 5 years service and 18% having greater than 20 years service.
The active Medical Staff of eleven physicians includes
Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Critical Care,
and Diabetes/Endocrinology. Visiting specialty clinics include two Orthopedists,
three Cardiologists, an OB/GYN, Podiatrist, and an Ophthalmologist.
SABINE MEDICAL CENTER sponsors an active Senior Circle
chapter. Members of Senior Circle enjoy merchant discounts, free activities
and programs, mail order pharmacy, and many other benefits.
