Bass Unlimited Autcion

There are numerous highlights at the annual Bass Unlimited Banquet besides the dinner, live entertainment and the boat raffle. There are multiple auctions taking place during the evening. Through the generous prize donations of our sponsors, the Bass Unlimited committee is able to present three different ways in which you can win these prizes.

First we have our silent auctions, where a signature sheet is placed next to an item that is to be auctioned. The way this works is by signing your name and writing a monetary amount next to it, by doing such, you are telling us that is how much you will pay for that item. If someone wants to pay more for that item they simply scratch out your name and write in their name below yours and the amount they wish to pay. At an announced time all the sheets are collected and the last name on the list has won the item at the money amount they wrote in. This past year we had over a dozen silent auction items that included everything from knives to paintings.

Secondly we have our ticket drop box items. When you enter the pavilion area you are greeted by our “ticket girls” they will gladly sell you strips of numbered tickets. We have displayed items that were donated on tables around the outside of the pavilion; in front of each item is a slotted box. If you desire an item that is on these tables you simply tear off one or as many tickets that you wish, from your ticket strip and drop them in the appropriate box in front of that item. You keep the ticket stub as proof of the winning number. Later in the evening the boxes are collected, then winning tickets are drawn and the numbers announced. Our drop boxes are a big hit at the banquet. This year we gave away prizes like a camping package, rod & reel combos, outdoor landscaping package, golf memorabilia, along with several gift certificates from area restaurants and gift shops.

Third and a highlight event of the night is the live auction. This is where everyone in the banquet gets a chance to raise their hand and bid on whatever item is up for auction at the time. There are Bass Unlimited staffers throughout the dinning area to assist you with your bidding and to follow up after the gavel is struck with the proper paperwork on the item you just won. We have had the pleasure to auction off several major pieces of art, rifles, shotguns, rod & reel combos, sculptures, guide trips, catered dinners and hunting trips at the past few banquets.
