Toledo Bend Reservoir Fishing Report
for
May 20, 2013

This report is based on the areas above the Pendleton Bridge and including the areas of the old 1215 Highway and San Miguel creek and Lanan creeks.

Water Level: 170.28

Water Temp: On the Main Lake 72 degrees and in the creeks 75 degrees in the evenings.

Generator: 1 currently shut down

Generator: 2 currently shut down

Spillway Gates: closed

Current Flow: 204cfs

Crappie: Crappie fishing continues to be good weather permitting. The wind has been rough all week and is forecasted that way this week we are hoping we get a break for Memorial Day weekend. We are catching Crappie on 18 to 22 feet brush piles in the creek arms because of the high winds you can hardly get on the Main Lake. Shiners and jigs both have been working.

.

Bass: The Bass fishing has been great at times and slow at other times. The post spawn is always a tuff bite time of the year with the fish transition from shallow to deep. I have caught a 6lbs and a 8 lbs bass both of which where in 18 feet of water last week. This past Monday we caught a 5lbs and 6 lbs bass in 29 feet of water on jigs. The next day we are throwing frogs in the lily pads in 3 feet of water and we catch two 4lbs bass so I guess you just have to go fishing with an open mind. The wind has really hurt the main lake fishing but hopefully that will change soon.

The weighs were down for the McDonald Big Bass Splash but I know the high winds hurt the main lake fishing none the less that’s why we call it fishing Lol. The creek arms are the only shelter areas to fish this past month.

The fish are biting somewhere we just have to find that somewhere. The fish are biting on Toledo Bend
