This small lake is a part of the water supply for the City of Center, Texas. The water treatment facility is at the edge of the lake neat the spillway and is surrounded by fencing.
To get to the lake itself, at the spillway, you must park as you can and, preferably near the cornet of the fence. Take a short (probably 100 yards or so) and pleasant walk down the trail and to the spillway. The climb to the top of the spillway is a bit steep!
There is a clear area by the water plant, though somewhat overgrown when I visited in August 2010, which would allow access to the lake.
Given the rural nature of the lake and surrounding woodlands, this should be a good lace for bird watching!
